The Best Engraving Ideas For Wedding Rings
Looking for a way to inject some personality into your wedding bands?
A great way to personalise your wedding rings is to have them engraved with a meaningful inscription. If you don't know what to say, there are many different ideas that will add that unique personalised touch to your wedding bands!
Planning a wedding is no small feat, and it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of things.
Engraving your wedding bands is one more thing to add on your list, so to make life easier we have come up with a selection of fun ideas to help add that added sentimental value to your wedding rings.
How Ring Engraving Works?
Understanding the process of having your wedding ring engraved will help you make an informed decision before proceeding with what you'd like engraved.
The engraving process of your ring should be completed in a few simple steps. For example our process is;
Decide on the specific engraving you’d like. We’re able to engrave text, symbols and patterns.
You tell us where you’d like the engraving or we can advise on the different options. We’re able to engrave on both the inside and outside of rings.
Write down the words or send over the artwork you would like to have engraved.
We then create/adapt your art-work using Adobe illustrator, before uploading a suitable vector file to the engraving machine.
We engrave your ring. The length of time it takes to engrave is dependent on set-up, size and amount of detail within your artwork.
Once your ring has been engraved, our jewellers will buff/remove any burr marks left as a result of the engraving process.
Finally we’ll notify you when your ring is ready for collection or dispatch.
Significant Dates
Significant dates in the couple’s life are popular choices for wedding ring engravings. They can be simple and easy to fit inside a band, such as your anniversary or the day you were engaged! You might also add other significant dates, such as the day you fell in love, or perhaps a particular weekend away that brings back happy memories.
Names or Initials Engravings
Why not have your partner's name or initials on your wedding band? This is a great way to make it more personal and unique. For example, Robyn + Max: "and" can also be used in place of “+” between two names, or connected with an ampersand (also known as ‘&'). There are endless combinations that you can try out until finding something just right for both you and your partner - don't forget about the added option of including symbols too!
Initial engraving
Replace your full names with the initials you’d like to use. This saves space and it's a unique way of expressing yourself! At Laser Engraving Service we have a wide range of both traditional, italic and modern fonts.
Monogram engraving
Monogramming is a great way to tie together two people’s initials. It's done by using their last initial and 1st names for each other, typically with the larger middle letter because it has more meaning than something like ABCD or MNO etc..
Nicknames
You can engrave a more personal touch with your nicknames or the pet name you give one another. A custom nickname is perfect for couples who want to add some personality and love into their wedding bands.
Song Lyrics
Take a line from your favourite song or poem and have it engraved on your wedding bands - it will serve as the perfect reminder of a fond or meaningful moment you share together! But what about when there isn’t enough room? Instead of choosing one long passage (which would take up too much space), select meaningful phrases that summarise your relationship.
Famous song lyrics
''Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy'' - Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
'Somebody Like You' - Keith Urban
"Then you walked in and my heart went, 'Boom!' - Phillipa Soo & Original Broadway Cast of Hamilton
"If you fall I will catch you, I'll be waiting...time after time." - Cyndi Lauper
"Your love is better than ice cream." - Sarah McLachlan
Funny Phrases
A laugh-packed nuptials is a perfect way to show off your sense of humour. A humorous wedding inscription equips the bride and groom with a beautiful keepsake, which can be used in both happier moments as well as frustrating ones throughout their marriage together! If you’re looking for some inspiration on what message might best suit this occasion try these clever ideas:
It all started with Netflix and Chill.
The excellent blend of love and madness!
Big spoon and little spoon.
You’re my favourite notification.
With you, everything’s twice the fun and half the trouble.
You’re my lifehack.
You’re the cheese to my macaroni.
You’re the frosting on my cake.
Significant Locations
Some couples have locations that mean a lot to them. Perhaps it's the place you first met, or one where your partner realised they loved you back? A special trip somewhere together?
You could simply have the name of the location engraved or have you thought about finding out the coordinates in Latitude and longitude format?
For example London's, Latitude and longitude coordinates are:
51.509865, -0.118092.
If you need to find a location's latitude and longitude, you can use the Mapbox Search playground on Google, which allows you to search for a location and retrieve its coordinates in longitude, latitude format.
